If an Armadillo Went to a Restaurant by Ellen Fischer, illustrated by Laura Wood is an entertaining learning experience. The text starts off with the idea that an animal might eat like a person, meatballs, chicken, oatmeal, or a BLT, but then goes on to explain that no animals don't eat those things, they eat worms, succulent plants, bees. wasps, and snails.
The art is delightfully digital with humor and character. It depicts the fiction and the nonfiction of the story cheerfully and with a light heart. I'll use this with Preschool to 3rd grade children. Using this especially with 2nd and 3rd grade as they study animal habitats and habits will fit right in with educational standards.
