Daddy Hugs by Nancy Tafuri is an endearing story of how different little ones love hugs. Little Turtle loves drippy hugs, Little Skunk cozy hugs, Little Fox whiskered hugs, and they are all the best because they are Daddy hugs.
This title is done with her trademark watercolor painting and pencil on Arches paper. The line work with the animals shows details and closeness of the forest critters. From the title page you see hints of the Daddies and the young creatures page to page, as we see them across the pond to forest, up close, and through the trees and grasses. Nancy shows flora and fauna, nests, and resting places, where animals play, stay, and sleep. There's an author note that identifies all the names of each beastie throughout. This book will work great with toddlers to Kindergarten children.
