Friday Favorites

Axel Scheffler's Flip Flap Farm is an Early Literacy joy.  Your young child will love the funny rhymes and crazy creatures they can change and make with a snap.
The illustrations were done in ink and watercolors. Each animal, on it's own has character, but when you flip half the page you'll find an even more humorous picture.  Make silly sounds with silly animals all the while learning the different sounds in words and putting them together is an unusual way.  I believe that when children are paying attention to the playful nature of making up a word they are more likely to hear the different sounds.
Try it for yourself.  Just try not laughing at a Mig (Mouse + Pig) or a Teep (Turkey + Sheep), I dare you!
