A Perfect Home for a Family by David L. Harrison, illustrated by Roberta Angaramo reminds me of one of my favorite books, from my childhood, The Best Nest by P. D. Eastman. A raccoon couple needs a quieter, roomier place for when their twins are born. They go looking and end up going back to their original home.
The art is bright and inviting and brings out the characters of the story. The artist used acrylics to paint the pictures. This title fits the bill for a good spring story when baby animals are being born. I'll use it in Preschool Storytime and with Kindergarten children as well.
