Thoughts on Thursday

A Long Way Away: A Two-Way Story by Frank Viva is literally a story that goes forward and back.  You can start from way out in space or way down low on the ocean floor.
This book was created as a single, continuous twenty-six-foot-long piece of art using Adobe Illustrator.  It was printed on 140gsm Gold Sun Woodfree paper.
It's a happy book that children will want to read again and again.  How fun it would be if parents and teachers had children make their own forward and back story.  There is lots of contrast and single colors with no blending into shades. The brights and darks are attractive and will hold children's and adult's eyes.  I'll use it in Storytime and with Kindergarten and 1st graders.
