Where Is Fred? by Edward Hardy, illustrated by Ali Pye is cute hide and seek story. Gerald the crow notices this sweet fluffy, white caterpillar and really needs to eat it for his lunch. Fred isn't that easy to find, though. I love how clever Fred is. It's fun to search for him in the different pictures.
The art appears to be digitally created. It's full of pastels, textures, and lively antics.
I'll use this with my preschoolers in Storytime as well as Kindergarten to 2nd graders. This could be a great lead in to a lesson on searching the pictures for context clues for the writing.
