Wonderful Wednesday

Outfoxed by Mike Twohy is when that thieving fox gets outsmarted. Fox breaks into the hen house to steal a chicken. Fox's first mistake is getting a duck instead of a chicken.  Then he gets confused because the duck acts like a dog - first barking, then peeing on the rug.  This story is hilarious and duck makes a very good bad dog.  Fox is convinced that duck is a dog and takes him back, but when Fox finds an egg he realizes he's been duped.
The art is rendered in markers and colored pencils.  The pictures are expressive and I like how the words are figured into the pictures.
There are many sounds written like the chicken's cluck, the duck barking, and what the duck is doing.  Lots of speech balloons and you can tell the difference between what is spoken and what is narration.  This title will work best with First Grade and up for kids learning about quotes, narration, and for the humor.
This will be a good title to discuss about prediction and what might happen next.
