The Brief Thief by Michael Escoffier, illustrated by Kris Di Giacomo is a startling sparse story with a twist. Leon, the chameleon, ran out of toilet paper, he finds, what he thinks are cast off underwear and it gets even crazier after that. His conscience speaks loud and clear that he had better clean those underpants and not touch other people's stuff.
The art is done with collage, pencil, paint, and silk screens. I love the paint splotches, the insanely airy feel to the background, and the surprise at the end. If you don't laugh out loud at the ending, then there is something wrong with you!
