Up, Down, and Around by Katherine Ayres, illustrated by Nadine Bernard Westcott is a terrific rhyming, gardening romp.
The illustrations are done in watercolors and ink. This title has admirable perspective depictions from growing tall - like corn or down - like potatoes. I like how the artwork has multicultural children in it, and lively, engaging characters of all types, with adults and lots of animals and insects.
I use this with a gardening or growing theme for preschool storytime. It would also be used for Kindergarten - 2nd grade to introduce a plant life cycle or growing and gardening for the classroom.
