The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt, illustrated by Oliver Jeffers is a story about letters. Letters are written to Duncan from the different colors of crayons. Some are complaining, some are happy, some are very tired and over worked. Each letter is accompanied by a colored page.
I like the note in the back: "The art for this book was made with ...um...crayons." It made me laugh out loud. Kids will love this book and it may help open some up to using their crayons and colors in bold new ways. You know like a pink dinosaur, an orange whale, or a glue crocodile.
