Moby Dick: Chasing the Great White Whale by Eric A. Kimmel, illustrated by Andrew Glass is an astonishing feat.
I was doubtful when I saw that Moby Dick had been turned into a picture book. But I was pleased.
Kimmel's rhyming verse tells the tale with sensitivity and Glass' s illustrations are amazing.
The artwork was created with oil and pencil on bristol.
The artwork portrays the sea voyage with vivid color, texture, and movement. The pictures seem to leap off the pages.
This would be a great way to introduce the classic story to 4th graders and older.
