Do You Know Which Ones Will Grow? by Susan A. Shea, paintings by Tom Slaughter isn't brand new, but I hadn't seen it yet and I used it today in Storytime and LOVED it!
This is Shea's first book. It rhymes, has a lift-the-flap feature, and is a great audience participation story.
The paintings are created with cut paper and paint. Slaughter has done various techniques, take a look at his website and biography page for more information on the versatile artist.
This was a terrific book to introduce the idea of living and nonliving to preschoolers. I would recommend it to teachers in PreK to 2nd grade.
