Who Am I? by Gervase Phinn, illustrated by Tony Ross is a mystery story. Little chameleon is trying to figure out who he is and where he comes from. The other animals don't know, but they assure him who they are and what they do. He keeps going and it looks like the alligator will eat him for his lunch, when, just in time, his mom shoes up! Little chameleon gets to meet his brothers and sisters and go home with his family.
Tony Ross uses pen, ink, and watercolor for the illustrations.
I like the story and you learn what the fastest, tallest, strongest, toughest, and cleverest creatures are as you follow little chameleon. I have a Storytime theme for Chameleons, so this will be a good addition. It repeats enough to help preschoolers and has enough suspense to keep K-2nd graders interested.
