Smooch, Smooch, Smooch!

All Kinds of Kisses by Nancy Tafuri is a tribute to how much little ones love kisses.  Her trademark illustrations are done in watercolor paints and pencil on Arches paper.  I always love Nancy Tafuri books for Storytime.  They have big enough, bright enough, and clear enough pictures to use with a group.  Each spread has an animal or two showing how they kiss their little ones, "Little Piglet loves Oink kisses." This book would work for a farm theme or love and kisses theme for February.  I don't like to do only Valentine's Day books, I like to use a more generic love, kisses, hugs theme. There a lot of details that you could point out with a one-on-one read or asking 'what' questions with a two to three year-old.  Each spread shows the main animal and their sound, but other insects and animals in the background.  Visit the author's website.
