Boy Wonders by Calef Brown is intriguing. The acrylic illustrations are bright and eye-catching. The sing-song rhyming ponders many questions like:"Just for the sake of argument, suppose I became an Argonaut. Would I say "arrgh" a lot, like a pirate? Would they require it?" Lots of silly rhyming and alliteration, but that's not a bad thing, it makes it fun and a little goofy. This book is reminiscent of a Lane & Scieszka book with its ridiculous suggestions and I am left with a slight feeling of loss - of not having any answers, but it's filled with lots of questions! I guess those questions are left up to the reader to decide.
It does give the reader many ways to look at the world and to think of new things to look up and check out.
