For Halloween we had a 'Trick or Treat' where the treat was a free book. We had available books for children birth to grade 5. This program had an Open House format. The children came to pick out a book, receive a pencil and a bookmark, but we also offered 2 crafts to make & take: one was a pumpkin pencil topper and the other was a ghost sucker.
The Pumpkin Pencil Topper was a small pumpkin printed on both side, tape to a pipe cleaner then the pipe cleaner wrapped around the pencil. The Ghost Sucker was a 'dum-dum' sucker wrapped with a Kleenex, then tied with a piece of yarn. The kids also made a spooky face on their ghost. Neither of these items were very time consuming, they could be made easily and fast. Over the 30th & 31st we had about 75 people (parents too!)
